5 – 7pm Hamburger Feed –  Commanding Officers Quarters sponsored by Ellsworth County Historical Society.

 7pm Forsyth Scouts Descendants Reunion – Jr Officers Quarters  Join Jim Gray for an in depth look at the life of Chauncey Beldon Whitney, Frontier defender.
Saturday July 12
7:30 am Tour of historic Fort Ellsworth celebrating 150 years of its founding. Meet at Fort Harker Guardhouse with Jim Gray as guide.
10am parade, Games, entertainment & food all day and evening in the city park
9pm till midnight   Free dance in the park

Memorial Day Bicycle Ride

It’s Memorial Day 2014 and time for another Roxbury hills ride.  Leaving from the grocery store in Canton at 8:00,  we’ll go up the Prairie Trail Scenic Byway to Roxbury and then west towards Interstate 35 as far as you want to go and then turn around and go back.  This is at least a 30 mile round trip, be prepared.  This is an   unsagged ride.  No charge, no tee shirt, no sags, no kidding, just a good ride in the hills.

MAXWELL GAME PRESERVE ACTIVITIES

August 23                              Santa Fe Days – the celebration of the Santa Fe Trail.  Evening Bison Tour with a meal following.  Prairie life in the 1800’s to be done by a Historian of the area.

September 7 and 14            Fall Wildflower Tour – enjoy the colors of the fall foliage and flowers from the tram with several stops along the way for viewing and pictures.

October 4,5 and 6                Annual Rendezvous – come and experience living history with historical re-enactors, primitive camps, flint knappers and craftsmen.  Join us for demonstrations of prariie life, biurd walks, music, food, elk and bison tours.  Free gate entry . .

Octoer 26                               Fall Fun on the Prairie – sunset bison tour with campfire mewal.  Prize for the best Halloween costume.
