Bicycle on the Byway

Come join the McPherson Area Cyclists for a 30-60 mile bicycle ride on the Byway.  Leaving from the Canton Grocery Store at 7:30 on Saturday September 4 and heading north up the Byway passing by Maxwell Wildlife Refuge and on to Roxbury.  Heading  west over the hills past historic Twin Mounds.  It’s a turn around and head back to Canton when you have had enough or head on to Lindsborg for a “Vika” break.  This is an unsagged ride, so be prepared.  See you Saturday or check out https://www.facebook.com/McphersonAreaCyclists.

Storm the Castle-Mowbray Metric Bicycle Weekend

Fort Harker Days, Kanopolis, July 10 & 11

Friday July 10 – Hamburger Feed 5 – 7pm @ Commanding Officers Quarters sponsored by Ellsworth County Historical Society.  Suggested donation $6.00 per person.
Saturday July 11 – Parade 10am  Events in the city park include food vendors, games, bouncy houses, entertainment and a free dance from 9pm to midnight.

Lindsborg’s Broadway RFD presents “The Wizard of Oz”

Broadway RFD presents “The Wizard of Oz” for the 2015 summer musical production “under the stars” on the Swensson Park Band Shell. All shows begin at 8:00 p.m. on July 17, 18, 24 and 25. Tickets can be purchased at the gate only. $10 for adults, $5 for 12 and under. Held at the Band Shell in Swensson Park, located at the 400 block of N. Main St. Broadway RFD, established in 1959, is the longest running outdoor theatre in Kansas and seeks to engage the community in stage performances every summer. They are a community-based, volunteer-run, not-for-profit organization dedicated to producing the highest possible quality theatrical performances and educational experiences.

Lindsborg Old Fashion 4th of July Celebration

Come join us in the ‘borg for an old fashion 4th of July on Saturday

6:00 pm in Swenson Park

Lindsborg is celebrating Independence Day with an Old Fashioned 4th of July event. The observation festivities will be in Swensson Park, 400 block of N. Main Street. Yummy burgers and brats will be grilled up by the Lions Club at 5:00 p.m. Bring a blanket or lawn chairs and enjoy a patriotic evening. Also included is the Patriotic Parade – Inviting all ages to bring strollers, bikes, wagons to participate in the Patriotic Parade. Meet at 5:00 p.m. at the gazebo in Swensson Park to decorate. The patriotic parade will process through the park from the gazebo and kick-off the entertainment at 6:00 p.m.

Just another Memorial Day on the Byway.  For the McPherson Area Cyclists it’s become a tradition for both Memorial and Labor Day weekends

September 19 – Santa Fe Days. Celebrate the Santa Fe trail with a tour and a meal. Presentation by Trail Historian. Please call for info and reservations

September 5th and 12th – Fall Wildflower tours – Viewing of the prairie flowers. Reservations please.

October 2,3 & 4 – Annual Mountain Man Rendezvous.
